ATF smuggling guns to Mexico: Obama speaks
But doesn’t say much:
“My attorney general has made clear that he certainly would not have ordered gun running to be able to pass through into Mexico. … I’m not going to comment on — a on a current investigation. I’ve made very clear my views that that would not be an appropriate step by the ATF, and we’ve got to find out how that happened.”
“As soon as the investigation is completed, I think appropriate actions will be taken.”

“My attourney general blah, blah, blah…”, I’m sure. After the relevant meeting with his co-conspirator in the white house I ‘spect that holder went back to his office, brought all his minions in and did his best Thomas Beckett speech, “Won’t somebody rid me of this(these) problem?”.

I imagine the investigation will be completed in the same haste as public road work done by a union shop.
That should keep him safe until the end of his second term…

“…he certainly would not have ordered gun running to be able to pass through into Mexico…”
Slickster, Harvard lawyer, Obama talk.
The question is not the hypothetical, “Would he or would he not have ordered it?” This isn’t a philosophy discussion.
The question is, “Did he allow it?” The answer to that question is that he did – it happened on his watch.
Then it becomes a matter of what did he know, and when did he know it. Did he order it or not? Did he have others order it or not? Did he merely authorize it, instead of ordering it?
There are many questions that need to be answered, and the Obama administration, despite campaign promises to the contrary, is being as transparent as a stone wall. But they would deny that they’re “stonewalling”, to use that Nixon-era term. They lied and they continue to lie, but they would deny that they are liars. They are liars who lie and deny that they lie. Liars lie about lying. No surprise there.

There is the possibility that Kenneth “I’m not going to be the fall guy” Melson will be the John Dean of Gunwalker. I wouldn’t hold my breath, but it could happen. He was in a pivotal position, could have easily known all the players and their motivations, and Obama is not pulling the trigger on firing him, for some unspecified reason.
If this was just an ATF screw-up, which as a multi-agency operation it was not, then Melson would have resigned or been fired by now. Melson’s leaving office one way or another, but who is leaving with him?
Obama’s soft defense of Holder suggests that the AG’s ass is in the wind. A cabinet level resignation may be required to allow Obama to put this behind him enough for him to have a chance in 2012. With the economy as bad as it is, Holder is highly likely to be jettisoned to lighten the campaign load, if he is in any way implicated. And he’s already implicated because he should have known even if he didn’t have a clue. The U.S. Attorney General is supposed to be a sharp and knowledgeable lawyer, not a clueless fool who makes his boss and the entire country look bad by his foolishness. Holder is on the skids.

Barry must have received the eMail that his Buses will be shipped to him in the next couple of weeks. Getting pretty crowed with all those bodies piling up in the parking lot. Notice that he mentioned his StoneWaller-in-Chief Holder. So guess who’s next to be thrown under the Greyhound when Barry says that he’s “… Shocked! Shocked I tell you to find out that there’s Gambling going on here!”

Mr. President, what did you know, and when did you know it?
June 30th, 2011 at 11:44 am
He’ll probably just blame it all on Bush.

Sounds very much like an impeachable offense to me since the “straw purchase” laws were ignored and an American was killed due to illegally supplying the weapons to the cartels in Mexico.
Getting Americans killed is treason in my book. Aiding and abetting known terrorists/foreign enemies is the very definition of it. Would someone please bring up a resolution to impeach?

Government usually uses its own mistakes as an excuse to restrict liberty.
They are gonna use this as an excuse to try to restrict guns.

And yet since multiple agencies were involved, IRS, DOJ & BATFE, any program of this magnitude would’ve required a very senior approval. I can’t believe that this administration is actually trying to hang their defense on, no one knew what was going on. I guess they;d rather be shown to be inept versus corrupt. Given their economic policies, that isn’t much a stretch.

They’re not going to hang a defense on anything.
They’re going to lie and obstruct, and Republicans don’t have the cojones to do anything about it.

NRA has an email out from Wayne LaPierre with the opportunity to sign a petition to have Holder removed. I signed it.

I’ll suggest it’s less what comes out, and more what the media covers.
Thus far the NY Times has presented this as a reason for stricter gun laws, and the Washington Post put all the blame on the gun retailers both ignoring the central issue. Even when John Stewart touched upon it, he left out the rather important detail that this has resulted in the death of a Border Patrol Agent.
Even if Holder is directly implicated it will take an enormous effort for the mainstream media to cover it. And if it isn’t covered, it didn’t happen.
Think of this as a preview for the 2012 election season – more unexpected economic catastrophes caused by the previous administration, just as they caused Operation Fast and Furious.

I think they are waiting with bated breath, hoping another ‘crisis’ comes up and knocks this off the front page/media radar, before the truth about how high the approvals went.

“Appropriate actions” being blame gun owners and the 2A.

“As soon as the investigation is completed, I think appropriate actions will be taken.”
You THINK they will? Not exactly reassuring, Mr. Accomplice-In-Chief.

The old media dinosaurs once again prove their worthlessness by not covering the issue. They really are obsolete. The new media will take up the slack. So long, and thanks for all the fish.
