DC to become firearms dealer?
A proposed fix to allow the District to deal in firearms since the dealer there lost his lease due to zoning. The other fix would be to remove the federal prohibition on buying handguns out of state.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

So the government, acting as a dealer, would keep a record of all firearms sales, to satisfy the FFL requirements for document retention. An instant registration of all local, legal gun owners. It’s a two-fer!! DC gets gun registration and avoids another lawsuit!

Wanna put the Over/under at $1,000 per Firearm transfer?
You know they can’t have the poor people that live in their gang-infested neighborhoods protecting themselves…

I vote for the abolition of the interstate purchase. That way I don’t have to keep carrying my 10 different drivers licenses with me.

This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg for DC. We make Bell, CA look like…well, a responsible, fiscally viable government entity.

Dee Cee dealing in firearms? And how Kafkaesque is that going to be?
I just visited a socialist gun shop the other day. Of course, they do not sell firearms in a socialist gun shop. That would be politically incorrect according to Marxist values. They had pellet and BB guns, ammo and cleaning supplies, gun safes and paintball guns, but no real guns. It was my local Walmart. I used to think that they were capitalists, but not anymore. They seem perfectly willing to suck up to their socialist oppressors, who don’t like them to begin with. Walmart has actually come right out and said that it supports MAIG.

Only Alan Gura can scare the most anti-gun city in the world into becoming an evil gun merchant!

@Gene
It ain’t going to happen. DC is just trying to put the pressure on Walmart to sell guns. Walmart doesn’t want the responsibility or the additional insurance hike.
I wish it wasn’t true, but it’s going to take another lawsuit to get that whole constitutional right thing back on track.
