   My God, that story read like something you’d see in a movie. I nearly can’t believe that shit can possibly still happen with what appears to be the full backing of the arresting department.

   It sounds pretty bad, and the abuses seem extremely blatant… so much so that I tend to wonder if there is some embellishment or detail omission going on.

   If the assailants are bragging on facebook about beating someone up I would not put anything past them…
   Maybe you facebookers should search the names of the attackers and see if they really are bragging. That is a damn big indian. I could see it taking 7 skinny white boys to beat him up…

   As noted in the article, one of the accused assailants is the sun of a former county sheriff. Wouldn’t be suprised if this is yet another example of a law enforcement department that thinks the law only applies to civilians.

   Mr. Bonta and family would have been wise to be armed. However, if the Reno Sparks res is like all the various other reservations I’ve worked on, they aren’t allowed to carry. No one is other than the tribal police.

   Looks like something that having an armed family, and a plan would have stopped.

   Then again if they did defend themselves, they would have been laid across that thin blue line and “taken care of” given how they were treated after being beaten.

   I dont see this family getting justice.

   I’m so glad to read that NEVADA SENATOR HARRY REID is all over this, pressuring ATTORNEY GENERAL ERIC HOLDER to launch a Special Investigation about what’s going on in that county’s LEO Establishment.

   What’s that? Nothing from NEVADA SENATOR HARRY REID? Never mind.

    What the hell is going on here? That sounds more like a bad seventies drive in movie plot than anything that should be going on in this country.

    and hope that an investigation into that department has begun, because that’s some terrifying, rotten craziness going on. Who imagined that stuff like that still happens? The story reads like the plot of a bad Steven Seagal film.

    For example, from the news story: Lisa said Jacob Cassell taunted the family as the sirens approached, telling them, “You hear those cops coming? They’re not going to help you. My daddy is a cop in this town, and nothing is going to happen to me. You fucking niggers are going to jail.”

    Johnny Bonta, bleeding and barely standing after being hit in the knees with a bat, was arrested on the scene and taken to jail. He said he was not allowed medical treatment for six days while he was in the county jail, all the while uncertain about what charges had been filed against him.

    I could have sworn we were done with incidents like this decades ago.

    Thats why even big guys need to carry guns. These little punks came at him with bats and crowbars, if he was going to jail anyway at least use your gun to go in one piece. He would have won with the disparity of force against him and the other weapons. I hope the FBI makes it right, but probably not.

    The way the story reads, I’d bet on the cops murdering him when they got there, if he had shot the punks.
