Democrats to introduce gun control tomorrow
U.S. Representatives Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), Elijah E. Cummings (D-MD), ranking member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) will join other members and a leading law enforcement organization for an event Friday, July 15th, 11:00 a.m. at the House Triangle to introduce the “Stop Gun Trafficking and Strengthen Law Enforcement Act,” which establishes a dedicated firearms trafficking statute to empower law enforcement to keep high-powered firearms out of the hands of dangerous criminals, including Mexican drug cartels.
Does it ban ATF from selling guns to Mexico? See, we gun owners should have to deal with this because ATF let guns go to Mexico where they were used to kill. Makes perfect sense. It’s like it worked according to plan.

Need to picket the meeting with BIG SIGNS saying the ATF was doing all the ‘trafficking’ and to ban them instead.

“empower law enforcement to keep high-powered firearms out of the hands of dangerous criminals, including Mexican drug cartels.”
It was law enforcement who PUT the darned firearms into criminals’ hands – and we law-abiding gun-owners have to pay the price? LIKE HELL WE WILL!

What do you do? Do you elect a war hero, from Arizona? Or, do you elect a lawyer, from Chicago? I hate un-funded mandates. We need better choices. And yes, I voted republican. I had to hold my nose, though.

Sigh… The first nose under the tent…

WTF, do they thing we’re that stupid?
Oh yeah, they do.

There was a war hero from Arizona running? Does John mccain know about this? Seriously, if we keep saying the stupid party guy would have been better than the evil party guy, we’re never gonna be rid of either set of tyrants.

@ oldnfo, tell Alan yes. They do.

Election season grandstanding. This will never pass the house.

Here are congress weasels who have many demonstratively more important things to do LIKE BALANCING THE BUDGET trying to put additional laws on the books when proper enforcement of existing law would take care of the problem.
I think we can start with charges of procuring a firearm for a know felon for a couple dozen ATF agents. To be followed by racketeering and conspiracy charges for those agents supervisors up to and including a certain Mr. Holder.
Heck, here’s a chance to put a whole pack of career criminals away for decades to come!

Everyone call your favorite lib’rul or squishy conservative and urge them to vote for this bill! Guaranteed turnover at the next election!

Dammit, they promised us that the next bill with more than 10 syllables and law enforcement in the title was going to be
The fantastic Imaginarium of Dr. Obama and the magical ice cream for everyone in Law Enforcement Act of 2011.
Just like big government. No ice cream, just empty promises and more rules based on their mistakes.

This is especially dumb because it means that Congressmen are going to get to make longwinded speeches on the House floor and bring up the ATF stuff even more.
