Obvious flaw in the data is that it is deaths per vehicle not deaths per mile. I would be willing to bet that the latter chart would look far different due to differences in mileage for the various kinds of vehicle.
The truck data is going to be changing as they now require ABS and, in 2012, Electronic Stability Control on pickups which will cut down on roll overs. It also, doesn’t help that many don’t realize a pickup can’t be driven like a car since your drive wheels are normally lightly loaded and the weight is forward.
