No way her insulin was in a bottle of greater than 10ml. It simply doesn’t come that way.
Insulin comes in basically two packages, a 10ml vial, and in pen syringes. The pen syringes hold 3ml.
In order to have more than 100 ml, she would have had to be carrying 10 vials or more. Each vial carries 100units of insulin per ml, or 1000 units.
I can’t imagine a pregnant woman needing even 100 units a day, so 1 vial would be a minimum of 10 days worth of insulin.
Something is very wrong here!

I’ve also never seen an unlabeled bottle of insulin. Ever.
They endangered the life of that woman and her unborn child by stealing her insulin.
Tar, feathers, and rope. Some assembly required.

Time to get rid of these morons.

Agree on the unlabeled part, there are various types of insulin, fast acting, intermediate, slow, and combinations thereof.
NO WAY that they aren’t labeled!!

PS, past time to get rid of these morons, but people keep flying!

@Bill
So she could stab someone with an insulin pen.
Completely retarded arguement, but that’s what happens when you substitute pc for common sense and independent thought. Which is a growing trend in the Govt.

The fact that she didn’t give her identity for “fear of retaliation” is extremely telling of where we are at.

@Jeff,
Yes, those 30 gauge, 3/8″ needles are indeed formidable weapons! LOL!!!
A BIC pen is FAR more deadly!

They need to be shot and made an example.

This brings to mind a thought along similar lines: How long will it take for a report to come out about TSA goons stealing prescription painkillers out of people’s luggage and passing it on to various urban pharmaceutical sales reps?

Bill: Not flying is not an option for a lot of us. The reality of the modern economy is that business trips are required, and taking 2 days for a train/car ride vs. 4 hours in a plane is not possible. Especially because your competitor WILL be there in 4 hours if you are not. Corporate travel will continue regardless, so boycott is not an effective option. The TSA needs to be dealt with by Congress. I don’t expect much luck there, but an air travel boycott is not a viable route to change.

One of the scary things about this? Sooner or later someone will wind up dead or crippled because of some idiocy like this, and their only responses will STILL be “We were following procedure”, followed by “We are sensitive to passenger concerns.”

TSA agents can be utter dumbasses.
When I fly, my insulin is in a separate carry-on with cool-packs, and is labeled “Insulin” with a magic marker on the outside of the cooler. If someone makes a grab at it, I demand they get a supervisor.
These drugs are usually labeled with a trade name, and the word ‘Insulin” is not there on the vials or pens themselves. Typical bureaucratic fuckup, rules made by people with no clue.
The one time some nitwit tried to, said supervisor hauled his ass off somewhere, and waved me though.

or at least the word “Insulin” is small enough for someone who doesn’t care to easily miss it.

MikeR,
I understand the business logistics very well. But it would NOT take an extended boycott. Two days and the airlines would be going nuts to have people back. No violence, no problems. TSA would be gone. How much is it costing corporate America to have all you guys waiting around in airports to get through TSA? Billions daily?
Our elected reps are gone guys, they no longer care one whit about freedom or liberty!
You are trading your freedom for safety, and getting neither!
