Kinda like if you ask someone how much they make and they reply with the net amount
Robb: Company Paid Health Insurance is Part of Your Salary
So is FICA, SS, Medicare, unemployment, etc. All of the money sent on your behalf to someone else.
Personally, I think we should all be paid our gross amount and then remit our taxes to the government. Then, people will figure that out.

Can’t show them the man behind the curtain, they might figure out the wizard is really just an old man and a light show.

Once a year. About one month before election day. THEN people will figure it out.

Great idea! I talk to small business owners selling jewelry or doing hair or even “tobacco” pipes and the firs check they write makes them fiscal conservative.

I ran the numbers for my total cost to my employer vs what I take home last fall. 27% (gross)is gone, and never visible on my check (mandated tax and insurance matching by gov). Another 27% (gross) comes out that I get to see being deducted.
Of my gross compensation, 54% of it is gone by government mandate before it reaches my pocket.

Didn’t some guy try doing that a few years ago and had the IRS up his butt (and in his books) for not taking monthly withholdings from his peoples?
He was teaching a valuable lesson, dammit!

How about making everyone sign for each paycheck, and it has to show where every penny went? I get that this is legislating stupidity, but we aren’t even dragging the horse to water.

I pay Fed. tax, Social Security, Life Insurance and Medical out of my paycheck…then, I also pay taxes on goods and services. Oh, and lets not forget property taxes as well. And there are still people that say we have low taxes compared to much of the world.
