Obviously from “The Rampion,” a sort of traditional country “Onion.”
The ‘Flatt & Smugs’ really hurt me. No one involved in that venture is fit to turn a Scruggs peg. Ningen Kokuho, they say in Japan, and obviously we don’t have a word for that. Mock on, Rousseau. The sand blows back.
But I can understand his embarassment about listening to Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts.
And imagine the outrage of someone wishing to buy a cd by Flat and Scruggs (a premiere bluedgrass band if ever there was one) and wind up bringing home of the packaged music coming out of Nashville these days.
I mean, who thinks up names like Rascal Flatts and Lady Antebellum?
That’s Country California! My wife’s got an aunt named Jesselee Scruggs who’s husband was named Topp, and a cousin named Dorris – who’s a guy. I’ve met ’em.
California Country is everywhere that the big cities aint. First gas station outside LA or the Bay and you hit it.
Pretty much. I never thought I’d see such a thing, but it’s a great read!
And yeah, modern Nashville “country” sucks. Waylon, Willie, George & Merle are awesome, though, as is the stuff coming from Texas & Oklahoma these days. (I also go for the modern Nashville trad-country singers like Strait & Jackson.)

I can’t believe this guy is from Kali.
He sure looks like an East Tn homie to me.

Surely that’s a reprint, so to speak, of an article from theOnion.
