In some states with open carry this could work because you have to have permit to even purchase the weapon… Putting an NRA membership in them though? I don’t think so…
It only took five minutes of my NRA instructors course to realize that the NRA knows nothing about actually carrying a handgun and defending oneself with it; I endured the rest of the course to get the coveted certification and confirmed my first impression many times over. It was a nearly comical experience.
Don’t get me wrong. I am a Life Member of the NRA and they are an important advocacy group that I fully support. But it is just ridiculous: I can go down a laundry list of great trainers and get blank stares from guys who think nothing of spending $2K on a nice 1911 but balk at $500 for some actual training from Farnam, Smith or etc. … then their faces light up– “oh, you’re an NRA instructor?”

Except for the fun little fact that – if you keep the permit in there – you have to reach for your gun to get the permit when an officer asks to see it. At which point you will find yourself staring down the barrel of a Glock – if you’re very, very lucky. If you’re not lucky, you’ll end up with your insides on the outside.
Yeah, stupid idea. Sounds nice on paper, stupid in execution. Maybe use the space to decorate it the way you want instead? I’m sure the Hello Kitty stickers would fit in there too. 😀
North Carolina requires a permit to buy a pistol if you purchased it in state. If you purchased it before entering the state they will just give you a really hard time… As for reaching for the weapon?? Think again… Most officers I deal with request that I expose the weapon or hand it over the second they hear that I have one. That may not apply in other jurisdictions but it does for me.. The good ole boy system.. I am armed while brown so I do not know if they treat white people different. I think carrying a ccw permit would be a really bad idea but carrying the permit on a weapon that you bought in said state with the weapon is a good idea… As I understand that is how NFA machine guns are transported. The paperwork with them at all times… I am yet to hear of a cop shooting one of them because he reached for a machine gun…

“When carrying, the law requires your permit to be on your person”
OK, in which state? In what circumstance? Terry stop or mere encounter?

Bad Idea. Period.

Those would be better if they were made to hold your CCW badge instead. Wicked awsome.

Looks like putting the gun in makes it harder to get the permit out regardless.
“Excuse me officer, would you mind bending down to read this in the holster or should I draw the gun so I can take it out?”
Maroons.

You guys can’t make a copy to have an extra in your wallet to pull out in your states?

I’m pretty sure they arrest you for “pulling it out” in my state. Especially if you do that in front of a cop.
