I have had bad times with Del-ton uppers.Same type of problems. Its like there is such a demand for this stuff the quality control go’s out the window.I wont deal with them.I try to offer some of the better stuff not just whats the cheapest. It is a firearm sometime cheap is not the way to go.
While I don’t discount the story above (All manufacturers let a bad one go occasionally) I wanted to share that I haven’t had or seen a bad experience with Del-Ton across the 10 or 12 transactions myself and my friends have had with them. My father gave me a Del-ton and based on my satisfaction with it (reliable function and 1″ groups @100yds even with cheap S&B ammo) I recommended the company to some friends who got in on an AR lower receiver group purchase. Every one of those that ordered a rifle kit from that group is content with it. If anything I think they have tried to improve quality over time. Del-ton now states that barrels are finished under the FSB, Bolts are HPT and MPI tested, etc. Also, noting a friend’s kit that was purchased a year later than my rifle was, I noted that there is better staking on the gas key. I know that they are not milspec but I’ve considered them a good commercial grade rifle. I hope the problems reported are few and that Del-ton will make every effort to correct them in the future.

It’s amazing how much *fun* they are when they work.
