Dick Cheney on the Second Amendment
His book notes his departure from the Bush administration in the wake of gun control cases going to the supreme court. Bush usually played lip service to gunnies, and at one point said he supported the renewal of the ban on weapons that look like assault weapons. Of course, Cheney has speculated that maybe it’s ok to limit magazine capacity as well.

They get old, their testosterone levels drop, they get the high-pitched voices of frail, old men who struggle to assert themselves while looking about nervously. They get confused easily and often, and start thinking like little girls; eventually they die.

I suspect most career politicians, deep down in their core, really wish none of us peasants had guns. I think they all truly believe they know best, and if they could just get us to heel, they could run this place the way it ought to be run. Of course, as long as we are self reliant and ultimately capable of resisting them with force if necessary, they can’t really get too pushy about it. They only go along with gun rights out of political necessity, and if they could throw all of us and our gun rights under the bus, they would.

Chas and Dave,
Your comments were both very well-said! In our Constitutional Republic, anyone in public office who wants to, in any way infringe on our right to keep and bear the weapons of our choosing, are UNFIT to be EMPLOYED in the government of a free and self-governing people!

8 years of Dick Cheney vs FOUR MORE YEARS OF JOE BIDEN? I’ll relive those 8 years again, please.

Bubblehead,
I suppose there’s always the comparison between bad and worse. I prefer neither.
