While it is awesome that this woman was able to defend herself and her neighborhood, by allowing her name and picture to be published in the news, she has placed a target on her back.
But then … writing and commenting on gun blogs has somewhat of the same effect, if one uses their very unique real name and their state legislators fail to act to keep the HCP database from public view …
Did I read the same article? All she did was hold him at gun point while awaiting the police … isn’t that considered a citizen’s arrest? I also don’t see where she made him do anything except sit still. He started reciting verses on his own … she didn’t tell him to. I’m confused now …

She went from self-defense to kidnapping at that point. You do not get to make arrested suspects perform work for you.
She had better hope some prosecutor doesn’t smell blood.

She didn’t force him to do anything. He in fact was the party that started babbling out things like “y’all are evil” and reciting scripture.

At church, a question was asked of those of us on the security team: What would we do if a nutcase barged in intending to cause harm?
My response was to ask the guy 2 questions (assuming that he was coherent, and had not initiated force yet):
1) “Have you heard of Jesus?”
2) “Would you like to go see Him right now?”
Succinct and spiritual, I say.
