I haven’t noticed similar shortages here in the Greater Knoxvegas area, at least not in the items I usually see. As a longtime corned beef addict, I can say with certainty that there’s plenty available here, and the gunshops I visit have more ammo than they’ve had in some time.
Now, in certain regions (esp. north of the Potomac & east of the Appalachians, and most areas west of Kingman, AZ) common sense is, and long has been, so rare as to be considered extinct.
I can rarely find Cascade hops, but other varieties are available if you want to pay dollars per ounce. I learned years ago that the hops industry, at least in the Northwest, is very much a government enabled cartel.
Funny thing is, just like a government department, hops grows like a weed once you get it established, yet it is super expensive.
The answer to all the governmet-caused shortages will of course be another government program.
No shortage of Cascade hops in my garden…bumper crop this year. With that and a fully stocked wood shed, ‘ol man winter can hang around as long as he likes this year.
