Home ownership is a right! So, there’s a law proposed saying that banks can’t foreclose.
Wow.
But try not paying property taxes.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Lately, every time I hear a news story about the People’s Republik of Kalifornia, I wonder if Robert A. Heinlein’s novel “Friday” should be considered “Prophecy”, like Nostradamus’ works, instead of Science Fiction.

Actually … if the dumbasses make owning a home a right in California, someone will sue the state for trying to seize a home for back taxes.
And it will be a welfare leach in a home bought on a NINJA loan, bet on it.
If home-ownership is now a “right”, then why bother to pay property tax?

If anyone is interested to see the effect of a no-foreclosure law, have a look at most Indian reservations. Since outsiders can’t foreclose, all they can buy are mobile homes which can be towed away, and are bought via installment loan, not regular mortgages.

Of course you have a right to own a home, just like you have the right to keep and bear arms. That does not give you the right to steal a home … or a gun. This ass1nine concept of not being able to foreclose on a mortgage has nothing to do with rights. You do not have the right to be given a home.

I would be for a law that prohibits non-judicial foreclosure, after seeing some of the shenanigans pulled by the lenders. Such a law would prevent a bank from foreclosing on a home unless they take you to court. Non-judicial foreclosures are already prohibited in 18 states.
This law is asinine and will result in no bank wanting to write homeloans.

Think how much more money the state can make when people don’t need to pay thier mortgage. They can raise property taxes through the roof.
