Where do you go for gun reviews?
Bob wants to know. Personally, I go with blogs that I trust or message board with posters that I trust. Or I may ask someone. The gun magazines, in a lot of cases, are running ads designed to look like articles. Everything they get is, apparently, awesome.

Amen on those gun mags. Only occasionally will I consider purchasing one, yet after leafing through it at the newsstand I realize, once again, they don’t even consider the apparent conflict-of-interest in the way the articles are written. I’d rather spend my dinero on ammo or flowers for my wife.

I used to go to Stephen A. Camp before he passed away.

I read Teh Magazines entirely for entertainment value and the other stories they tell. Since I don’t have any money there’s no sales pitch that works with me but I like the pretty pictures.
Having said that, once I made the decision to find another .45 that would work for self-defense besides My Precious 1943 1911A1 Colt – one which I wouldn’t cry over if it were taken-away to the Police Dungeon after being used in a *worst-case scenario* – the Sig kind of revealed itself as a possible Best-Choice.
They are available at *my price* on the Used Market, so I went into due-diligence mode looking through what back issues I had for critiques, and researched on-line opinion makers and histories.

Had a well known gun writer and author thell me once that gunwriting was the 2ns oldest profession only because hookers predated the written word. That said, SWAT magazine and a small number of blogs.

I have subscribed to Gun Tests for many years because they get their guns across the counter rather than directly from the manufacturers and don’t take any advertising.
