Unsurprisingly, they’re blaming Bush

We’ve known for a bit about Operation Wide Receiver, which was a Bush era operation that sent RFID tagged guns to Mexico. Apparently, the latest spin is that, because ATF did it under Bush, that makes it A-OK with everyone:

The federal government under the Bush administration ran an operation that allowed hundreds of guns to be transferred to suspected arms traffickers — the same tactic that congressional Republicans have criticized President Barack Obama’s administration for using, two federal law enforcement officials said Tuesday.

But Issa doesn’t relent:

whether it’s Operation Fast and Furious, Operation Wide Receiver, or both, it’s clear that guns were walked, and people high in the Justice Department knew about it. There’s no excuse for walking guns, and if there are more operations like this, Congress and the American people need to know.

It’s OK to rape, because it was done before.

Well it’s not like the MSM was actually going to blame Obama….

You know, for a guy who campaign on how much better he’d be than the last guy, I don’t understand how “well the last guy did it too” is a valid justification.

Oh, we’re not playing “valid justification” (the game you play when you genuinely believe your actions are correct). We’re playing “well you didn’t criticize it when” gotcha (the game you play when you simply want to deflect criticism). Okay then.

NO. There isn’t enough force in an exploding star to say no loud enough to this half-informed putrescent nonsense from the mainstream media.

Under Bush, the firearms had RFID tags. Now, it was a technologically retarded and non-functional plan, but it was a plan.

Under Obama, there was never a plan to recover anything. It was a 79-yard punt return into the end zone of deleting the 2nd Amendment, over the bodies of murdered Mexican women and children.

While both were wrong, it’s moral equivocation. They’re trying to conflate falling asleep at the wheel with the guy who stole the tank and drove it down the freeway in San Diego.

Who cares if it has an R or a D behind it? Either side wants power, power over us, and this helps their spin machine.

  6. Ron W Says:

Gunwalking done under Bush, is just another of the some things that Obama has continued for the reason mentioned by Bryan S. Remember, Bush supported the renewal of the AWB, but didn’t push it because Congress wouldn’t go along.

On a different subject, this guy nails it:

Extradite the lot of them to Mexico.

A presidential pardon for US crimes will not prevent extradition.

  9. Kristopher Says:

Workingwifdakids: The officials involved in the Bush version should be punished as well.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
