Occupy whatever: part 2
From facebook:
Memo to those in the Occupy Boston crowd flying the Gadsden flag. “Don’t tread on me” is not the same as “Give me more of that guy’s stuff.”
Yup. I’m with them to an extent on some of the trouble with respect to our country, as a policy, privatizes gains but we all share in the loss.
But, seriously, go occupy a frier and a spatula.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:40 am
Trouble is they’re demanding $20 per hour to occupy that frier and spatula.
And this should be interesting. Good luck Emily.
Emily tries to get a gun, in DC.

Van Jones did say in a speech a couple of days ago that the Commies needed to start copying the Tea Party style. Of course, one does have to wonder why a year ago, the MSM thought only Sexist White Racist Homophobes used the Gadsen Flag, but today it’s cool if the Hippies do so.
Damn Commies.

Seems the city is allowing them to break the law by pitching their tents, and supplying them with free power, and clean-up.
Seem the mayor is fine with you breaking the law if you’re a Socialist like he is.
Who’s the guy who says “Selective Enforcement of the Law is the First Sign of Tyranny”?

What’s funny is how many hippies have rich parents that pay the way for them. Then these stupid kids go out and cry about the “corporations” that employ their rich parents. They are so out of tune with reality they fail to see the connection.
This is just an observation of the hippies in my area.
October 6th, 2011 at 12:00 pm
It was the same way with the Hippies in the 60’s. But a key difference is that these hippies seem to be largely griping about not being able to get “in the game”.
The hippies of the 60’s where griping about there being “a game” at all.

Need to occupy a shower for 30 minutes or so…
October 6th, 2011 at 12:40 pm
Typical Communist agit-prop to nowhere attention-seekers – they already occupy the White House, what more do they want from Goldman Sachs?
October 6th, 2011 at 1:30 pm
WAIT.
They’re in Boston?
WEERD, wanna head into town for a few???
heh…

All we are saying is give soap a chance!
October 6th, 2011 at 2:47 pm
They think they’re trying to recruit teapartiers. I’ve heard ’em talking about it, and I think the Gadsden flags are part of that stupid ruse. Poor kids haven’t got a clue.

Jay, Saddly GOOD people won’t get the same red carpet treatment Mumbles Menino has rolled out to these micro Trotskies
October 6th, 2011 at 3:48 pm
Man, are you guys one trick ponies with the “dirty stinky needing soap and job hippies” jokes. Same thing everywhere, blog in and blog out. Yawwwwwwwwwwn.
People who are upset at Wall St and the Fed aren’t all commies, unless Ron Paul changed his affiliation recently and nobody told me.
October 6th, 2011 at 4:14 pm
But have you SEEN the crowd at Wall Street? Tea Partiers they ain’t.
I just find it priceless to see one protester/camper complaining about student loans and the inability to find a job while standing next to a communist with a sign demanding “End Capitalism NOW!”
October 6th, 2011 at 4:30 pm
I dunno, I saw some smelly looking old people in DC on 9/12.
But all this picking of the low hanging fruit isn’t just boring, it’s also missing the very point you made yourself: this isn’t a monolithic crowd with a monolithic set of demands, ideas, and concerns. You have everyone from Commies to Ron Paul-heads and everyone in between. What they share is disdain for corporate-owned politicians and graft at the expense of the everyday citizen.
If you’re focusing on what they smell like and making the blanket assumption they’re all “hippies”, whatever the fuck that even means, you’re really missing the point…and are essentially part of the problem.

Sebastiano, if you think the Occupy Wall Street people are Libertarians, then I think you are not paying attention.
October 6th, 2011 at 10:02 pm
They are actually very organized, educated, and have well thought out demands –

See ?
October 6th, 2011 at 10:42 pm
SPQR, seems it’s you that’s not paying attention if you think they’re a monolithic group (or if you think that’s what I was saying). Strawman much?
Folks are talking about whether the Paulist infiltrators should be tolerated.

Don’t be more of an idiot than you need to be. Thanks.

Right wing talk radio in Albuquerque (KKOB 770 AM) was totally in love with Occupy Wall Street on Thursday. The afternoon host played a rant by some kid there and said: “There’s not one thing I disagree with.” Most callers were the same, except for one guy who said Code Pink and CPUSA was behind the whole thing.

Bubblehead – I’d be pissed if I were Metallica and someone stoled my flag.
October 8th, 2011 at 8:33 pm
I’m with you on this one. A couple of points make sense – too much corporate control, but what happened to creating opportunity through pursuing your own career? There was no safety net for the founding fathers. But then again, maybe these young people are being equally daring in standing up to corporate greed.
