Cain has developed a habit of talking like Romney: saying whatever he thinks people in front of him want to hear. He was also trying to be on both sides of the abortion debate today.
Like every other GOP candidate without a track record, I’m sure he’s saying what he thinks we want him to say. I’m sure if he got elected to office it wouldn’t be too long before the words “common sense” start rolling out of his mouth.
Someone like Cain should point out that the right to armed self-defense is the most basic human and civil right. That right has historically been the chief difference between a slave and a free peson. Accordingly, in the Dred Scott SCOTUS decision of 1857 which kept slavery legal in the United States, Chief Justice Taney arguing correctly from the 2nd Amendment, but in favor of keeping them slaves, that if black people were declared persons then they would have the right to keep AND CARRY arms wherever they went.
Those who support restricting or denying the right of the people to keep AND CARRY arms for self-defense of themselves and others are actually favoring the impostion of the main aspect of slavery.

1 Cain’s 9-9-9 plan is unconstitutional. Not that the Constitution ever stops either of the parties in power, but it is important to me.
2 The Republicans only pay minimal lip service to the gun community in order to secure votes, then ignore them until next election season.

Well, we know where Romney-AWB stands on guns… Can’t vote for the tall can of hairspray.

There will be no real change to gun control laws no matter who becomes president.
