Florida also requires a 1200 hour cosmetology course as a pre-req for getting a license to cut hair. Couple years ago the Orange County Sheriff started busting unlicensed barbers, mostly in the black community. Don’t know if all this licensing crap is the usual “idiots in government” or government manipulation by a business interest to protect itself, or both.
Well, after seeing some of what the Fashionistas call “Good Rooms”, I may not agree with the License, but some of those people needed to be arrested! I mean, come on! Random Lime Green Dots on 8 inch Black Circles hanging on a Line, I mean…oh wait, those are Shoot N See Targets at the Range. Never Mind. ; )
Having bought or designed many a curtain rod, and built and hung many a window treatment, from manly blackout curtains to the most feminine sheers, under the supervision of my very demanding wife, I am glad I did not get my license. OUTLAW is the only way to go when doing windows, baby!
You might want to rethink this one. Interior design is far more rigorous than the similarly named interior decorating. My daughter has her bachelor’s in that particular discipline. From having listened to the descriptions of some of her coursework as well as some of her assignment, my take is that an interior designer ranks right below an architect.
While an in interior decorator might help you pick paint swathes, a designer has to be able to certify things like where to place (or where it’s safe to move) load-bearing walls and so forth – it’s a bit more involved than hanging curtains.

Did the curtains get a fair trial?
