Carrying while shopping

Overcoming some issues.

Is the South the only part of the country that doesn’t wear extra layers of clothing (cover garment) to facilitate the carrying of a sidearm?

I live where it’s hot. At most I wear an undershirt and an outer shirt. That’s it.

“Have you considered the myriad difficulties associated with carrying concealed while shopping?”
No I haven’t. Because they aren’t any damn different than carrying while doing most anything else that you get dressed to go out in public for.

People go out of their way to make life difficult.

“You’ll be walking, standing and maybe climbing stairs. You might have to reach for something on a shelf or maybe for a wallet in your pocket.”
Is *walking* or paying for stuff that far off the beaten path that it needs to be brought to the attention of the average CCWer?

Hopefully these things aren’t only on one’s mind when shopping, but if one has to produce an article on shopping while armed, at least focus on the associate tasks. The trying on of clothes or shoes, on reaching up to top shelves or crouching down for low ones. On trying not to bang ones sidearm into a rack when maneuvering through crowded aisles. Hell, give advise on what to do with the holstered sidearm when they try on clothes.

This isn’t rocket surgery. This is carrying a sidearm to defend yourself and others with.

“…obviously require some sort of covering garment”?

I think not; at least, not in any other state which permits open carry. In warm weather, I open carry wherever I shop. Lowe’s, Home Depot, Target, Wegman’s, Giant, Macy’s, Costco (I know: supposedly against member policy, but no one’s said “boo” to me yet about it), Walmart, Best Buy, you name it.

    It’s definitely not rocket surgery.

I do run into a slight hiccup from time to time with pocket carry though, but I simply readjust my keys or phone for better access.

I’m with TomCat. I only ever wear a Tshirt as an upper garment and never have a problem.

I just make sure to only grab things on the top shelf with my left hand, so the right side of my shirt doesn’t uncover anything.

What to do with my holstered sidearm when I try on clothes? I keep carrying it to make sure it works with the clothes! And if my wife is with me and no one’s around, “Dear, am I printing?”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
