Our opponents always deny the racist origins of gun control. Now, they just want to restrict civil rights for all and not just one group. That’s progressive.

But if its easier to disarm all the blacks first, that’s a good start!
BTW have a look at the demographics for states that are “May Issue” and how the state issues permits.
You’ll note that if you live in a Lilly-white town you’ll be able to get a permit about as easily as you could in America…but if there’s a Black family up the street, and a Spanish market on the corner…No permit for you.
Funny how that works.

The Dred Scott SCOTUS decision of 1857 kept black people as legal slaves in the U.S. One of the reasons for the majority opinion written by Judge Taney was that IF black people were declared persons and not slaves then they would have the right to keep AND CARRY arms wherever they went. That SCOTUS ruling was overturned by the 13th and 14th Amendments, HOWEVER, that aspect of slavery is very much alive among our nation’s elite ruling class.
“Notwithstanding the provision in the Constitution of the United States, that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be abridged, the black man has never had the right either to keep or bear arms.” – Frederick Douglas, speech to the American Anti-Slavery Society, May 10, 1865.

Isn’t it ironic that the first black President supports the chief historic aspect of slavery?
