One of our local Ace Hardware stores not only sells pistols but is a Class III dealer selling both suppressors and full-auto firearms. The hardware section is now about half the size of the gun section.
We’ve got Fred Meyer, the regional Kroger outlet, selling guns in some of their bigger stores now. Prices tend to be on the high side, but they have a decent selection, and seem to know what sells the best.
That would be cool to walk into a Ace Hardware and see class III stuff available John.Wish things where different here in Cali.I am hopeing to sometime in the near future get out of this crazy state.
a few years ago Wally world took a look at what they were selling and where and decided to shift their inventory around, of which guns, ammo and hunting supplies were a major component. they shifted inventory out of about 1/3 of their stores back to a central warehouse and redistributed it to stores where there was a market for boomsticks. the move almost bankrupted Remington (Wally is their biggest customer by far) when WM didn’t order anything for a year. but, those of us who live in flyover country get a nice selection. 🙂
I’m not yet 50 but remember very clearly that the only place in my small N.E. OH town to get guns and ammo was out local hardware store. Wasn’t until around 1971-2 that a chain variety store came to town and opened up further options for guns and gear. Later a mom and pop gun shop opened . To me, nothing says America like walking to the local hardware store to get paint, nails, ammo, guns and a hunting/fishing license. Ah the good old days, may they soon return to us!

Shame they won’t get an FFL in NJ, though. Without which they can’t sell ammo.

Our Wal Mart has stocked Mini-14s for years and years. Have yet to see an AR in there though.

Yeah, it would be cool to see 18 U.S.C. 922(o) repealed so you could buy as well as look.

Wow, that is great to see ACE hardware carrying firearms. Of course that is probably impossible to see around the WashDC area.
