I like the idea of having a tankful of BBs and also the ability to shoot pellets, but the velocity is fairly wimpy for a pump-up air rifle. Unless you want “Air Soft”, designed to have barely enough velocity to break paper, an air rifle should be capable of killing small game such as minor game birds and squirrels, rabbits, etc. This rifle seems to fit in between those ideals, and as such a ‘tweener, isn’t all that useful except to AR freaks who insist that every long gun either BE an AR or look like one.
In my yute, I hunted squirrels with a Benjamin .177 pump, and on ten strokes, it would go all the way though a squirrel’s ribcage and leave an exit wound. I don’t think 625 fps MV on a 7.9-gr pellet will do that.
