Slander
Iranian owns a car dealership. His competitors refer to him as Taliban Toyota. He sued and won.

That’s because they were mixing their Muslim sects. It should have been Ayatollah Toyota.

They didn’t just call him “Taliban Toyota”, they were telling shopped that the competing dealership was owned by a terrorist cell and was using the proceeds of car sales to fund islamic insurgent groups in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The fact this qualified as slander shouldn’t be considered news; the fact this is a national news story says a lot about the growing bigotry against muslims is this country.

This case is what i tend to refer to as the “McDonalds Coffee Reaction”
From the title you would think that this is a stupid lawsuit, but if one reads into the lawsuit a bit they learn that this is a solid case of slander.
What if someone said “Uncle runs a gun blog and uses guns to maintain his underage prostitution ring” that would piss you off and YOU would certainly have a case of slander.
The point is that thecase is good law and in fact the outcome is called justice.
(BTW some of you may remember the spilled coffee in McDonalds lawsuit. Often that is used as an example of wastfull lawsuits. Heres what you never bothered to find out: 1) McDonalds was intentionally overheating their coffee to the point that it would cause serious harm to persons in the event that the coffee spilled for no other reason that at that tempature coffee doesn’t go stale for a long long time. 2)mutiple complains and even internal documents cited the problem 3) Mcd’s container was not properly built to hold the coffee and therefore failed on the victim, when the victim asked McD’s to pay the medical bills for her injuries McD’s told them to go f off.

I’ve never been accused of being overly sympathetic to muslims shrieks of “islamophobia”, but this case is pretty open-and-shut. You just can’t walk about telling people that your competitors are all terrorists, especially when you can’t even get their country of origin right. The defendant was stupid, and the plaintiff was fully within his rights. Just goes to show how “islamophobic” America really isn’t.

In my town, just saying, every Islamic-owned car lot is skeezy to the max, and we have a matched set of federal terrorism indictments to show for it. It would be very wrong to impugn the motives of the only Muslim car dealer who is not a terrorist sympathizer.
There are also used-gold buyers who are honest as the day is long. The mere impression that every out-of-business gas station, drug store and inconvenience store is suddenly either a used conveyance broker or a gold shop is no cause for you to be suspicious. It’s this damned economy. It’s really cut into charitable giving.

“Until you read the comment section on the article.”
Because comment sections are accurate representations of countries.
P.S. Taliban Toyota, Ayatollah Toyota, and Mullah Motors all made me lol.
