TN Handgun Carry Permit Statistics
For 2011, 355,066 people have permits. Needs to be higher. 6% of population seems low.

Did you subtract those under 21 from the Total Population, plus, maybe 500,000 Convicted Felons, those the Judges said “No” because of Mental Issues, etc.? That should push the Percentage of those Eligible in Tennessee to have a CHP up.

Sorry, push buttons too fast. Then when you have the Total who are Allowed under Current Law to have a CHP vs. those who actually have one, then the Total Percentage who are Licensed to Carry Concealed as part of the Total Population becomes clearer.
Keep in Mind: Many People who DO have CHP’s still don’t Carry all the Time outside their Homes. That Statistic I don’t understand.

Despite the number of people in the population who are disqualified, for one reason or another, from carrying a pistol, I would still like to think that if I am in a bank, store, church, or wherever, that if there were 10 people present that someone else would be carrying TOO.

Still beats Kalifornistan’s 30,0000 total CHP’s for a population of what? 28 Million or so or around maybe .1%.
I’m sure glad I escaped to AZ 6 years ago.

6% seems pretty respectable to me.
