Obama gun ban
New Department of Interior rules won’t allow shooters to use federal land:
Officials say the administration is concerned about the potential clash between gun owners and encroaching urban populations who like to use same land for hiking and dog walking.

“urban populations who like to use same land for hiking and dog walking”
Is that what they like to do, these urban folk?

I know around here where I live over the years they have pushed us out of three or four different areas you used to be able to use.All it seem to do is bring the crackheads and trash dumpers to those areas not Urbanite dog walking people for sure.

This is unnecessary BS as usual. Federal BLM and other lands have already been restricted on a case by casr basis for things like nearby dense populations, high traffic areas with lots of visitors, anf other reasons. Banning them completely citing safety concerns is an outright attempt to ban guns in more places.
I would like to know how many “urban hikers” have been injured or killed by a law abiding citizen shooting legally in designated BLM or other Federal lands.

Back in the late 1970s when I was a wee lad of 18, my college friends and I went camping one fall weekend in an Appalachian national park, whose borders serpentined along borders of national forest land. The weekend, unbeknownst to me, had hunting season starting on Saturday at dawn.
Friday night when we were happily camped on our park hilltop, we noted a lot of deer moving up the hillsides all around us, but did not know why. Saturday morning we broke camp at dawn to hike to our more remote location, in the national forest land.
Walking along a fire road as the sun rose above the horizon, jangling our gear and talking, we were surprised when a tossed rock landed in front of our group and a voice from the trees whispered, “You’re scaring the deer. Shut up and go away! We’re trying to hunt here!”
We did.

They can’t win in the Courts, so they use Federal Decrees to take away your 2A rights.
Of course, if the Republitard House Leadership would just cut the Funding to those Agencies every time they issue a Decree…but I guess that would mean Boehner wouldn’t be able to Play Golf with the Anointed One, now would it?

Wizardpc, I totally agree.
Obama did say that if Congress would bend over and take what he gives them that he would use his “executive” powers to achieve his goals.
Hopefully this reg wont ever take effect.

Says in the beginning of the article that it isn’t about safety.
Eff them. ALL the land I hunt on in AK is public, because the feds own most of the darn state.

I suppose next they’ll be banning public displays of affection between homosexual and mixed-race couples on urban Federal lands cause it might “freak out” rural populations?

Hey FUDs, didn’t understand why gunnies were up in arms about black rifes huh? How about now?
November 16th, 2011 at 3:12 pm
In my 4 years of hunting here I have run across a few groups of (legal) hikers and a bunch of folks on ORVs and sharing public land has never been an issue. I guess since they can’t take our guns away, they will try and restrict where Americans can shoot. Slippery slope…
Please write your elected officials.

We’re long past writing elected officials. Don’t understand why you can’t see that. 50% are tyrants, and the other 50% are moral busybodies, and 100% of them have trashed the rules of how this country is supposed to operate.

Does anyone have a link to the draft regulations?
