Joint Concealed Carry Database
During the floor speeches, a few legislators so mentioned that something like 15 states participated in a “Joint Concealed Carry Database.” This is the first I had ever heard of this.
I’m gonna guess that, even if there’s not an official one, that one could be cobbled together from the various databases that newspapers have put on line when they want to be edgy and generate controversy.

Yeah, technically it’s a matter of Public Record, like your Voter Registration, whether or not your plates are expired, etc. But some States won’t allow your Privacy to be broken, others will Out you in a heartbeat.

In Kali when I tried to add a pistol to my CCW they told me “It’s not registered to you.”
So, how did they know that?

In Texas your CHL license number is the same as your drivers license number and it shows up on the computer in the squad car when you are stopped.

In Wisc., the database of CCP is explicitly – by statute – not available to law enforcement perusal. However, at a traffic stop there’s nothing to stop PDs from keeping track on their own of which people say they are permit holders.
You know, because what could possibly go wrong with the gov’t knowing who all the gun owners are??
