If only there were some method by which blogs could invite the expertise of the entire public, their readers, to inform the subject under debate through contributions of well-informed fact, logical argument in favor or against the linked post, and refutation of mistakes by the blog. I would call such a system of, well, “comments” by readers something like “Reasoned Discourse.”
Can’t recall where I first read about such “comment” systems being made available on anti-gun blogs, but I am sure it could be done.
