Re: the pack rifle. I keep seeing links to this “Report”, which apparently can’t even discern the action of said firearm. Not much information there, is that?
On the subject of pack rifles, I find it amusing that someone would carry a .22 LR pack rifle, regardless of it’s weight, since the .22 LR is incapable of a quick stop of anything much bigger than a rabbit. Seems to me a pack rifle is supposed to be for both defense against medium to large predators AND for small-game hunting. Now, one could carry a .44 revolver for defense and the .22 for small game, but that sort of defeats the whole idea, doesn’t it?
The best pack rifle is a lightweight levergun in a strong centerfire caliber. If one pound is your weight limit, forget the pack rifle, carry a pocket nine and prepare to get up close and personal with the bigger predators.
