Which set of armed robbers managed to get more of his money? Honestly, I think we would be better off without cops. The cops have stolen WAY more of my money than criminals ever have.

When I was in grad school, I had a pickup truck. Since I lived just two blocs off campus and biked to my lab every day, I never, never brought the truck on campus. Except when moving lab equipment one Saturday, from one lab to another, at the request of my research adviser. Got a ticket for having an unregistered vehicle on campus, while loading lab equipment into the truck. Went to the adjudication board and was convicted, and paid the $10 fine (this was decades ago).
Now whenever a fundraiser from my alma mater calls up asking for a donation, I tell them I already paid, and tell them that story. I also tell them to tell the story to the campus cops, and the head of the fundraising department, and to multiply it by the thousands and thousands of alumni who undoubtedly feel the same about revenue enhancement through student fines.

i hear ya mikee. My fraternity house had a lot next to it labeled “Open Parking.”
Silly me, I started parking there. Turns out “Open Parking” didn’t mean “Anyone can park here.” It means “Anyone who has paid for an Open Parking permit can park here.”

Especially since you cant carry a gun for your own protection on campus.
