10/22 mags that don’t suck
I’ve been through a few non factory magazines that hold more than 10 and they’ve all managed to go tango uniform. The seams crack, the feed lips pry away, or the spring just stops springing.
Anyone know of any 20+ round magazines for the 10/22 that will hold up?
Update: In comments, folks recommend the Ruger BX25, which has the added advantage of making old man Ruger spin in his grave

Sorry Unc, I have enough trouble finding factory mags that work right.

Have you tried the Ruger BX-25? Reviews so far have been good.

The new ruger bx-25 mags are great. I have had mine a couple of months and between the two of them have put downrange almost a thousand rounds with nary a hiccup

Another vote for the BX-25.

Add me to the BX-25 chorus. I have 4 and I like them. If the rifle breaks, I can use the loaded mags as a blackjack.
My 10-22 is my emergency backup/”OMG I’m caught without my pistol in the wrong side of the house” home defense gun. It’s only a .22LR, but 25 rounds of it plus another 3 full mags in hot standby makes up for the lack of stopping power.

I guess I might be an exception…I’ve never had a single problem with any of my Butler Creek “Steel Lips” or even their plastic “Hot Lips” 25-rounders.
I will say that for shooting at the range I have been immensely please with the new Ruger 10-rounders with the clear plastic bodies.

Look at the newest Black Dog Machine 25rd mags with steel lip inserts. I don’t think those will wear out in our lifetimes.

I’ve used the Butler Creek mags for several years now; never had a problem with them.

I have had great results with the ruger 10 round rotary both clear and black, as well as the BX-25 and the Butler Creek Steel Lips. Going forward I am going to go all BX-25 as they feel a little built that the butler creek steel lips. I haven’t run the hot lips butler creek but I have heard lots of complaints about those.

I have had Butler Creek plastic Hot Lips fail within a few loadings, and others last years and dozens upon dozens of loadings. So sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t. Perhaps having competition from Ruger will help them with QC and product improvement efforts.
Ruger’s 10 round rotary mags for 22LR are one of the wonders of the firearm world, as are their 4 count 44 Magnum rotary mags for their carbine.

My tactical innovations mags are fantastic…

I have versions in both aluminum and composite. Pricey but worth it for a quality mag…

I second the recommendation for Butler Creek mags. Mine (Hot Lips) have lasted really well since I got them a year or so ago. Lots and lots of rounds loaded and used, and very few problems.

I’ve had good luck with the Butler Creek Hotlips. The loading tool they sell works pretty well with a little practice, which is why I bought them. One thing I’ve found with most 10/22 magazines that hang low is that they can tilt forward/back a little and cause a jam. I’ve even seen this with the Ruger BX25 and my factory 10/22s.

Another option is a clip that holds 3 Ruger mags together, 120 degrees apart.

An advantage is that they do not hang down 6″ below the rifle and use the well proven 10 rd Ruger mags.

+1 for tactical innovations
I’ve been through my share of butler creeks and they hold up for a while but TI make awesome mags.
do yourself a favor and get a butler creek speed loader though, they rock once you figure them out.
