The whois says it was registered in 1998, and expires in 2021. No transfer recorded.

Unless you want him for VP, head of ICE or an ambassador south of the border, we’ll keep him here in Texas either as governor or fondly remembered former governor.
Is there any way of determining all the domain names the Paulians have registered since the 1990’s? If any other politicians have ideas about running for president in the next 20 years, they should register their names and variants quickly, before the Ronbots beat them to it.

Here is my explanation of Rick Perry and Aggies, a subspecies of humanity of which I am a proud member.
A Aggie and a Harvard grad enter a bathroom at the airport. Both use the urinal and both finish at the same time. As the Harvard grad starts washing his hands, the Aggie turns to leave. The Harvard grad says, “Hey, aren’t you going to wash your hands?” The Aggie replies, “Where I went to school, they taught us not to piss on our hands.”

Okay, a harborer of criminals. But what about “one dumb motherfucker”, or “too stupid to be dog catcher, let alone Governor or President”? I’m assuming yes, since potentially having an employee that doesn’t renew your domain registration qualifies you. So I’d think that having an employee that facilitated the murder of a federal officer probably would as well, but I just want clarification.

Seems pretty clear one is covering up for a criminally incompetent goon, a deliberate act, and the other is just being an idiot (although later facts show that Rick Perry’s well documented idiocy in this case doesn’t extend to what it originally looked liked it did, ie not renewing a domain). Hardly analogous.
But that’s just me. I wouldn’t vote for either of them so it makes me no nevermind.

Several years ago, Microsoft let the hotmail.com domain expire by a lack of oversight. The story, as I recall, was that when this was noticed by a Hotmail user he promptly got on the phone to ARIN (or whoever registered it at the time) and renewed the domain on Microsoft’s behalf with his credit card, then fired off an email to root@hotmail.com with a quick note, explaining his actions and brought it to their attention. Good form, old boy.

Not just Rick Perry, but any candidate who can’t amass the basic nuts and bolts skill sets to run the campaign. Nice try.
Anybody can let something expire, but in this day and age if you did indeed let that happen you’d have to wonder why.
Being a pilot is largely rote memory of specific physical tasks. I know, I am one. Believe me, lots of dummies with more money than brains find a way to do it.
In any event it appears Perry didn’t do what our host originally thought he did. So you’re arguing about nothing.
However, the list of reasons to think the guy is a dumbass (what’s that 3rd agency?) is long and distinguished.

Yea, I’m is going to continue to lose a lot of valuable visitors over the next year to the .com domain. The surprising part, is that he had control of the domain at one point and still let it expire.
