I don’t see a problem with this. They want to be safer in their offices. Its weird how they try to make this anti-gun… when really panic buttons are just good ideas here.

Psssst! Keep this on the Down Low, but, you know, just because you are a Florida State Congress Critter doesn’t mean that you can’t get your own CHP and be armed in your office. Of course, the fact that a 911 Panic Button means that anyone shooting at you has several minutes to take careful aim while you are waiting for the Cops to arrive…
Hey, Never Mind! Now those Butt Heads know what it’s like to have to wait for help to arrive, just like most of their Constituents have had to for Decades!
Gotta love that Schaudenfreude! (Or however you spell it).

Heh. Does it make me a bad person to be a little gleeful to see our rulers starting to fear the peasants?

>A safety course recently offered to state employees by Capitol Police included an update on the law’s “impact on the Capitol” and “how to respond to an active shooter situation.”
They probably should have been given the active-shooter training anyway. Of course, it’s rather short if you’re not armed — “barricade door, shit pants, try to climb out window.”

Legislators should fear the public. Keeps them focused.
