The days blogging is worth it
A long time reader emails that he recently became a gun owner again:
last week I picked up a Springfield XDM in .40S&W based almost entirely on your continued expressions of affection for the platform. It didn’t hurt that nearly everyone at the gun shop while I was there commented on this being an outstanding choice. Now I’m former military, qualified expert in every weapon I ever fired, blah, blah, blah, but I haven’t fired a weapon in over three years. Until tonight.
And he’s getting his carry permit:
My CCW paperwork is being processed so I’m almost a fully-functioning human being, but I have to thank you for your advice and insight which were largely responsible for getting me out of the starting gate.
He emails this pic of range day:
Nice.

That’s an awesome story. I myself am about to pickup an XDM, the question is, which one and which caliber? I want them all!
Looks like some fine shooting from those targets..

Very cool story.
I have been coveting the XDM for a while. I have a Glock in .40, so I want the 9mm, but someone recently told me that the grip safety can be a bit of a problem. Now I am not sure. I shot the xmd 4.5″ and loved it, but my time was better with the Smith & Wesson M & P., but not by much.

Your work is well appreciated and helped me buy a nice, used Sig P220 that shoots better than I can.

I’m blushing like a 12-year old girl… *squeee*!!! Thanks for the kudos, Unc.
And for the irony-sensitive, that red background is my Apple store fleece. Thought it’d be a nice touch for the holidays.
