Castle doctrine
Apparently, applies to bow and arrow.
Jay has a review of the hearing protection I linked to a bit back. Only issue I’ve had with them is changing the batteries is a pain.

It’s banned in some states. At a friends recently, they had one of those rainwater collection systems. It was similar to this one. I thought it’d be a good idea for watering the garden in the spring. Anyone do this and have some pointers?
Russia will stop buying Kalashnikovs:
This year has seen the end of the longstanding tradition of the Soviet times. Russia’s Defense Ministry has decided to completely refuse from purchasing the legendary AK-74 rifles for the army. There are two reasons for that: the country has too many Kalashnikovs and they are outdated.
Nikolai Makarov, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces said: “Yes, we have refused. The reserves that we have in the country exceed the needs considerably.”
Also, the chief there then bashes the AK, saying it’s not good for the army. And bashes the quality. Sure, the AK has the ergonomics of a baseball bat and the controls are as easy to operate as getting the wishbone out in that game of Operation. But it does go bang when you need it to.
Obama says he’s not bound by the ban on gun control funding in the omnibus bill. Remember back when Bush was doing signing statements and they were bad? Neither does the press.
A reflective sash that identifies you as a concealed carry permit holder. I thought the badges were bad enough but this is a whole new level. You know a good way to identify yourself as a law-abiding person to the police? Don’t shoot at them. And put your gun away.
I think my favorite part of this is that the would be victim made the robber clean up his own blood with a paper towel.
Gun sales are, by most accounts, at a record high. The NRA notes, however, that gun accidents are at an all time low. Now, that is not to say that there is a causative effect. But the anti-gunners would have us believe that more guns equals more crime and more guns equals more accidents. But that’s been repeatedly refuted.
This is the saddest thing I’ve seen in a while. I’d take every computing device from them if I were their parents.
Because drug cartels use them. Hell, they set up their own private networks.
50% off knives at Amazon. I’m still digging CRKT’s Delegate. It took a bit to get used to the stiff opening mechanism but, ergonomically, it’s great. Feels fine in the hand, light weight and is one of the sharpest knives I’ve ever bought. Only con is it’s not good for any left handed folks.
ATF takes 237 days to approve a NFA transfer. You know, these transfers should consist solely of a NICS type of check, which can be done in minutes. Not sure what the hold up could be.
In NC, ATF will not approve transfers without an NC machine gun permit.
So, I went to show my ten year old nephews a youtube video. Sat in front of their computer and hit the mouse. Mmm, a Mac I grumbled disapprovingly. One of my nephews looks at me and says You know what PC stands for? Piece of crap.
I laughed. Internet trolling in real life.
Tam started it but the most played songs on my iPod:
Believe – Trapped Under Ice
God’s Gonna Cut You Down – Johnny Cash
Nothing Compares 2 U – Me First and the Gimme Gimmes*
Turning Point – Superjoint Ritual
Bring the Noise – Anthrax
The Horror and The Gag – Ramallah
Madhouse – Hed P.E.
This Dearkened Heart – All That Remains
Three Little Pigs – Green Jello*
Punk Rock Girl – Dead Milkmen*
The ones with asterisks are there because they’re on the kids play lists and they like those songs. I like them too. The rest seem to be the first song of particular play lists I listen to most.
1% of CCW permit holders account for 100% of CCW holder crime. Doesn’t really strike me as news that permit holders are significantly less likely to be criminals, but that’s not the NYT spin. Of course, no expose into the Mayors Against Guns crowd, who are 45 times more likely to be a criminal than a FL permit holder.
Pistol-packing mamas of Viers Mill Village, a Washington D.C., suburb, terrorized by night marauders for 3 weeks, rounded up four men in gun-fire studded chase early today. Wielding rifles, pistols, knives and baseball bats, the aroused housewives had the intruders begging for mercy when police reached the battlefield.
The term used to describe the rise in weapons permits. Turns out, when you get rid of the arbitrary authority of law enforcement approval, permit numbers go up
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
