Gunny Gifts For Non Gunnies
Been a theme here on items we gun nuts can get as gifts for non-gun nut friends. I’ve given quite a few friends Surefire G2s flashlights and S&W TacPens as gifts. Les Jones was giving preparedness type things as gifts. Good idea. I’m a fan of the Eaton Radio/flashlight/charger combo. My comments on it here.
And CTD looks at preparedness on the cheap.

Giving people “gifts” of a non-led flashlight that takes exotic batteries is handing them a problem, not a solution.
I’ve given several high end LED flashlights as gifts over the past few years, and I always make sure to gift ones that take common batteries, AAs whenever possible.
Sure, AA powered lights don’t perform quite as well as the CR123A camera-battery powered lithium wonder-lights I carry myself, but when the batteries croak the giftee has a chance to easily find affordable replacements.
Don’t make the mistake of saddling an everyday user with a piece of gear that requires exotic parts to keep running.

What about the lamps?

I think you’re allowed to give non-gun nut friends completely non-tactical gifts, too. Like booze or chocolate or an ugly sweater.

I showed my folks my Photon Nano over the holidays. They loved it, and immediately ordered two for themselves.

+1 on the Comedians’s comment. I’ve given a couple of Surefires as gifts, but to a lot of people, a battery is a battery is a battery. They wouldn’t be able to find the CR123s on the battery rack if their lives depended on it.

Surefires are overpriced, get everyone the Fenix LD01 Flashlight. It is more powerful than any other flashlight they’ve owned. AAA batts.
