Romney and guns
The good and bad but mostly moderate: The Truth about Mitt Romney’s Record on Guns.
There’s some misinformation out there from the usual hysterical subjects on the issue. My opinion is that I wouldn’t call him a friend to gun rights but not an enemy either.

I’m sure he’d be as big a friend to gun rights as George Bush, Sr.

The same could be said about Obama. At this point, any claims about either candidate’s position on gun control is purely speculative.

He’s a politician, he’s an enemy to all rights. Past incidents of political expediency and vote buying are not to be mistaken for acts of character or principle.

If Mitt is a windsock, it’s critical that we keep the wind blowing in the direction we want.

Question and follow-up to Romney or any other candidate:
Do you support “the equal protection of the laws” clause in the 14th Amendment?
If yes, then should all gun control laws that that apply us,the people, apply to you as President and ALL other government officials and agents.
If no, then any candiate is UNFIT to serve the government of a free people.

So far, Ron Paul is the ONLY presidential candidate who supports and has a long RECORD of being 100% pro-gun rights….and ALL of the Bill of Rights.

I would NOT trust any politician from Massachusetts on anything they say, especially guns.
Hell no to Romney. He is just a slicker version of Obama.

First, he has to win the Nomination of the Party. Second, he has to Beat Obama. IF the first 2 events happen, I doubt he’s gonna issue Executive Decrees Demanding everyone turn in their Evil Black rifles.
And he’ll need a Pro-Gun Congress to send up Legislation in the First Place.
But I don’t think he’ll be screaming at Congress for not passing his Pro-Gun Legislation, either.
But, hey, we’ll see come November.

If gun control is good for us, then why don’t the gun controlling politicians disarm themselves and lead by example?
ANYONE who wants you disarmed while they stay armed is your ENEMY.

I’m thinking that, with a Republican Congress, heavily infiltrated by Tea Part types, ol’ Mittens can be trained to take the right stand on just about anything.
It won’t be long before he begins to repudiate RomneyCare as being a really bad idea. From there, who knows where it can go?

I don’t think the danger is whether Romney would press for or sign anti-gun legislation. Since a pro-gun Congress isn’t likely to pass any anti-gun legislation and Romney has never campaigned for gun-control.
However, it would not surprise me at all to see Romney veto a pro-gun bill, especially if it was a stand-alone bill unattached to some larger piece of legislation.

As for whether Obama is anti-gun, the evidence is manifold. I don’t see how anyone with a modicum of information on the subject could think otherwise.
The greatest attack on gun-rights that Obama is guilty of so far, is appointing two anti-gun justices to the U.S. Supreme Court. If re-elected Obama could succeed in creating an anti-gun majority in SCOTUS, which could then nullify the 2nd Amendment.
SCOTUS effectively nullified the 14th amendment back in the 19th Century. It took more than 100 years to undo the damage inflicted on the 14th amendment. Can we ignore the similar danger to the 2nd Amendment?
