Wonder how soon the White House Tzars will attempt to punish you Reactionaries?

  2. John Smith. Says:

Prone to ridiculous laws with a mealy mouth governor with schizophrenic since of justice….

  3. Sebastian Noblog Says:

Now, if you could just quit being 36th in per capita income, 21st in Federal aid from tax dollars, and 4th in infant mortality you’d be getting somewhere :).

  4. John Smith. Says:

That income thing is very true. In an area where the taxes are low the income also tends to be low because there is nothing to tax…. If everyone in Tennessee where living the good life the hell would be taxed out of you…

  5. Sebastian Noblog Says:

You don’t need to tax much when you’re nearly in the top quintile for Federal largesse received either.

Doesn’t seem to be doing much for infants though.

I don’t doubt that TN is a cool place to live and I’m certainly not in favor of bagging on Tennesseans per se…but a little perspective seems in order.

Wow, Sebastian. Who pissed in your cheerios this morning?

  7. Mike Says:

It was also rated #1 in corruption — with special mention of “Public Corruption, Racketeering and Extortion”

Or have we forgotten the legions of LEOs sitting by the side of I-40 (Southbound, of course) just waiting to pounce on unsuspecting out-of-state drivers and steal their “drug cash”? In case we have forgotten, let’s go back to the tape, shall we:

Awwwww….I’m sooooo sawwwwwwy you find a wittle bit of perspective so fucking upsetting.

    Actually…no. I’m not.

“No matter what point you are trying to get across, lesson you are trying to instill, or argument you are trying to make, it is entirely possible that the single biggest and indeed most important thing you will teach your audience, subject, or opponent is that you are an asshole.”

“You don’t need to tax much when you’re nearly in the top quintile for Federal largesse received either.”

Its true we have “Blue” counties in TN, there is no denying it.

We also produced Algore, and Andrew Jackson…so kind of a push there.

    Oh, and Megafox.

  11. HL Says:

    You’re welcome for Megafox, BTW.

  12. Sebastian Noblog Says:

One man’s voice of reason is another man’s asshole…or freedom fighter.

  13. Chas Says:

I like the #1 for low taxes and limited regulation thing. That’s a good thing.

  14. wizardpc Says:

Awwwww….I’m sooooo sawwwwwwy you find a wittle bit of perspective so fucking upsetting.

    Actually…no. I’m not.

Geez, man, switch to decaf or something.

  15. Sebastian Noblog Says:

    Oh you were being funny?

    My bad.

  16. Seerak Says:

There was a site I saw some time ago that ranked states based on the percentage of total revenue from in-state versus out-of-state sources. Nevada, for example, has no income tax, due in part to the fact that a significant slice of Nevada tax revenues are effectively paid by tourists (through the gaming taxes) rather than locals.

  17. SPQR Says:

    Sebastien’s cheerios come pre-pissed.

  18. smijer Says:

With unemployment at 9.1 (compared to Taxachussets 7.0)… ok then.

  19. MJM Says:

One perspective is that Tenn. came out looking good on that scale, because everybody else is so over-regulated. Believe me, we have plenty of bureaucratic, regulatory overlay. Sort of like the US dollar being OK because everywhere else in the world is economic bedlam.

  20. chris Says:

Anyone who doesn’t like Tn can do us all a favor and stay out or move on.

We have plenty to improve on, but it’s a great place to live and work.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
