But it goes into your awesome mall-ninja bug out bag!!!
You know the one – the first bag all the other ninjas will steal when they see it, because it screams “I am an Operator!”
Actually like the idea of the break-down gun. Actually, I like any new ideas these days. If you’ve ever been to SHOT, you’ll know what I am talking about: thousands upon thousands of guns that are all just like each other. Just how many damn AR clones do we need, anyway.
I’ll stop grumbling now and just give kudos to anyone willing to step outside the accepted norm and try something new(ish).
The barrel/receiver take down AK is a great idea. Replacing the stock screw with a detent button makes for a QD stock too. Together, they would make for a very compact, easily stored and quickly assembled AK.

Under $2,000 for a KIT? For an AK?

I think it’s <$2000 for an AK with the kit already installed, which is still pricey if "Less than $2000" means "$1995" but less so if it means "$1200"
I imagine the kits will sell for $250-ish.

$2,000 for an AK style rifle. Wow. The kit idea is a good one if they can price it right.
