Warning shots are always illegal

Something’s not right about the story: she’s 37, which means she was born in, what, 1975? But she was an assistant district attorney from 1989-1994? When she was 14-19? If the writer can’t get facts like ages and dates right, what else is missing from the story?

ern: Maybe that’s why she resigned, they finally figured out she was still in high school. 🙂
As for the woman, I am willing to bet my next paycheck that she is a liberal Democrat….

What do we expect from a state with retarded gun laws. It is “may issue” to the elite (she must be one) and it is a felony to take even a basic NRA safety course before the state grants you your 2A rights which can take a year or more to get. Yup, the anti’s gripe because some states don’t require enough safety to issue a CCW license and their poster state actually makes it a crime to get training first.

Illegal? Depends on who you are.
A woman transit cop who was up from NYC in Albany, NY, fired a warning shot when some of the locals were stealing a TV – she was not charged.
Harold Finkle, a local jeweler, fired a warning shot while pursuing a thief, after the thief broke a display window and ran off with some jewelry – Harold was charged.
It’s equality under the law – it just depends on how equal you are, with some people being more equal than others. It’s not what you do, but who you are when you do it that determines how legal or illegal your behavior was.
Bottom line is, no warning shots, since you’re only justified in firing if you’re in danger of death or grave bodily harm, unless you’re located where you can legally fire your gun anyway.
However, the state of equality in our country is such that if one were Attorney General Eric Holder, one could fire all the warning shots one pleased, since one would not have formed the requisite intent to break the law, and therefore no crime would have been committed, regardless of how many innocent bystanders, especially Mexicans and Border Patrol Agents, were inadvertently gunned down by one’s “warnings“.

All of my CCL instructors have said that we shoot to stop. Don’t recall anything about warning shots, only to shoot to protect our lives or the lives of others.
