I went to the page via my FB account, and the number of attendees was 10,076. I don’t know if that’s changed from yesterday. I’ll have to look again later.
Please keep in mind that the boycott was actually a shakedown, with the anti-rights crowd trying to bully Starbucks into “donating” to their anti-gun cause, or face a boycott. Exactly like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson used to do, they were trying to extort money from a business to avoid bad publicity.
Starbucks is smarter than to fall for such an old fashioned shakedown, and has successfully avoided progressive demonization for their stance by emphasizing that they follow the law, not PC BS.
This is clever marketing. The PR Newswire campaign launch with press release and photo, including display in Times Square could have cost under 1500 bucks.
That sign is controlled by PR Newswire which is a paid for service that distributes press releases. It is located at 3 Times Square. The photo comes from knowing when they are going to display it on the sign and then you snap a picture giving the impression that you have a bigger presence.
Shall we take up a collection and buy a press release drop supporting Starbucks?
