Crazy talk
Talks of revolution, from Alan Greenspan. Via the captain who notes the Veritable adult children crying over the fact we all can’t just loaf off the government for a living.

18 year old mother fends off two home invaders and defends her 3 month old with a shotgun. One invader dead. A few things: what’s the thinking in the news video there with her walking around, pointing it at the camera? Seems unnecessary.
She was on the phone with 911 for 21 minutes. Think about that. When seconds count . . .
And from David:
What is it Colin Goddard calls people like her?
Oh, yeah: “Executioners.”
Imagine an upstanding citizen who’s gone through the background check etc. to get a carry permit in another state and is flying with the gun safely checked in his luggage — until the plane is forced to land at JFK because of mechanical problems, obliging the traveler to spend the night here. He asks where to check his weapon and is immediately arrested … That’s not a nightmare, it’s the existing law in New York state. Reform is needed, now
One time, I was stuck in Dulles with a couple of ARs and handguns. I kinda started freaking out since I was in DC, I thought. I realized I was in VA.
Criminalizing consensual sex between adults. You know, the way to deal with that is to fire teachers who act inappropriately. Of course, they’re so hard to fire that that is an issue. I think they pretty much have to diddle a student to get canned.
Making a holster for a fictional character. I like Michael’s holsters and think it’s cool one will be on TV.
Been reading the book Glock by Paul Barrett, so far it’s a pretty good book. There’s an entire section devoted to Glocks supposedly being able to get past metal detectors, which it can’t and how that baseless hysteria from government officials and anti-gunners sort of propelled it into the spotlight.
In FL, one kid bullied another. There were several witnesses to that. The kid getting bullied tried to flee after he was punched in the back of the head. The bully kept on. His intended victim then stabbed him to death. The judge ruled he acted in self-defense and the press is saying it is due to the ‘stand your ground’ law:
Brodie’s ruling concluded that Saavadra, who said he was bullied and tried avoid a fight with Nuno, did not act unlawfully. She added that Saavadra had more than enough reason to believe he was in danger of death or great bodily harm.
I’m not familiar with FL law but I think that if someone is beating on you, you could defend yourself regardless off castle doctrine laws. And this wasn’t in a home.
Santorum within 8 votes of Romney? Paul took third.
This is me shaking my head.
In Illinois, a Drano registry:
A new state law requires customers purchasing products containing sodium hydroxide, or lye, and other corrosive chemicals to show a legitimate photo ID and to write their name, address and date of birth. And the store clerk will log the time and date of purchase.
Intrusive? Illinois lawmakers said Friday they agree that regulating drain cleaners and other products is needed to protect the public from those who may use them to harm.
You know, the TSA searches you, steals your stuff, accosts grandmothers, pesters children and on and on. But what they really need is arrest powers.
In the Heller case, the side of evil committed several factual errors. But that doesn’t seem to matter much to them.
At least they’re not flying but apparently there was some inter-species shark on shark action. And it’s of course caused by GLOBAL WARMING!!!!111.
Glenn on whether national right to carry violates federalism:
Congress is clearly empowered to protect constitutional rights via legislation. Plus, this could easily be styled as an exercise of Congress’s affirmative power to arm the citizenry in the militia clause of Article 1 section 8.
PepsiCo says Mountain Dew can dissolve a mouse. That’s one Hell of a legal defense there, guys.
The ban on open and unloaded carry of handguns went into effect in Cali a couple of days ago. As predicted, the open carry activists have switched to shotguns:
An “open carry” supporter with a shotgun on his back drew some police attention at a Daly City mall Monday morning.
Around 9 a.m., police officers responded to the west side of the Serramonte Shopping Center after they got a report about the man, according to Sgt. Michael Barton of the Daly City Police Department.
Police released the man after they discovered he was in legal possession of the shotgun, which was also unloaded.
I’d expect to see more of this.
Be careful when you leave America: 28 year old marine facing prison for violating NYC’s onerous gun laws.
Ignorance of the law is only an excuse when the police do it.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
