Credit card sized computer
Raspberry Pi: The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games.

I have no idea what I would do with it but I want one very, very badly. Thanks for the link!

That’s not really true, but it is a fantastic thing and I’m pretty excited about getting my hands on one.
The part that interests me most of all is the GPIO pins.

Computer 1″ x 3.5″ that runs BASIC. Good for interfacing to hacked devices and other fun electrical things.

there’s like, 17 GPIO, even if you repurpose a bunch of the serial lines. that isn’t much.
here’s hoping they can actually hit their target price.

That Maximite reminds me of those old 80C52 BASIC microprocessors. I bought one, first program I wrote for it read the BASIC interpreter out to me so I could put it on an 87C51 or an EPROM for an 80C31, which was considerably cheaper. I know, I’m the reason for things like SOPA. Despicable me.

Dontronics stocks DuinoMite, which is very similar to the MaxiMite, with several changes to support Arduino. The DuinoMite uses the PIC32s internal peripherals for UART, SPI etc. and also adds a UEXT connector for another range of add-on peripherals. DuinoMite can also be loaded with the MaxiMite firmware written by the original author, Geoff Graham.
