More Serpa Derp
If you’re one of those people who thinks the Serpa holster is unsafe, here’s a way to disable the push button. And another instructor will not allow them in class.

I just heard a guy at the gunshot say he won’t do another class with them.

I guess I really don’t get the “issue” with SERPA holsters. I’ve had one for a few years and have drawn under stress. I have never once pushed the button with the tip of my finger. It is designed for when you place your index finger at the “ready” (outside the trigger guard) position. If someone is doing otherwise you need to train not to. The switches are not so heavy you have to mash them.

Oddly enough, I have been doing almost what the linked article says since I bought my first Serpa in 2003. I take an exacto and trim the point off the catch inside the holster.
The problem here is that the Serpa drop leg holster is the issue holster. Completely cutting off the catch is destruction of government property for service members.
BTW: I do not use serpa for belt carry. I use a blade tec for that.
OTOH: If you use the equipment wrong, like tex, it will bite you.

If you can’t safely use a serpa, you can’t be trusted with a firearm.
