It’s not the size of the dog in the fight . . .
Teach your kids to fight, it may come in handy: Ga. girl fights off would-be abductor in Walmart. The girl is 7.
I actually talked a little bit about self-defense with my kids and my nephews and nieces. Teaching them useful things like fight in public and never go to a second location. And not to scream help in public since that doesn’t get attention but rather to scream things like You’re not my daddy. I don’t know you. Leave me alone.

My kid’s dojo is BIG on stranger danger practice as part of their training. Yes, they learn their kata and how to count to ten in Japanese, but they also learn what to scream and how to put up a fight if abducted.
Learning the perfect shuffle front kick is good. Learning how to defend yourself is better.

Believe it or not, kids shout tht all the time – at their parents.
I believe “Stranger” is a better thing to shout. One word. Simple. Add “Stranger Danger” for clearer emphasis. Easier for kid to say a word than a sentence.
Biting. It’s one thing a small kid can do that can really hurt.
God help me. If I ever catch some one doing that to one of my kids. Cops will carry away a corpse.

Before you go rescuing a child in public, you might consider this.

We also teach them to yell “FIRE!” More people are likely to take notice.

My kids are all taught, “Stranger, stranger, don’t touch me there!” Seems like that might get some attention.
