Unpossible
A shooting at a Denny’s in Japan. Guns are banned there. And I would not have thought they’d have Denny’s.

I’d feel safer in a country where Denny’s is banned.

And oddly enough, Dennys there are more of an upscale restaurant… at least you are supposed to go dressed nicely.
And, hope you like mayo… its on freaking everything. Food overall is a lot better, we ate at one in Tokyo.

My wife worked at a Dennys there when she was just out of high school. She mentioned she had seen this on the Japanese news last night. Happened not too far away from her moms house. Apparently the target was a “former” Yakuza (gangster).

Denny’s have an allure for some US expats in Japan, especially late at night after social lubrication with Japanese coworkers.
There are some semi-western restaurant chains there that serve similar food with a slight Japanese twist – for example, one dinner plate I had included an egg custard cup with a chicken heart buried in it. Having grown up on fried chicken livers, cabbage rolls and other US oddities, I impressed my Japanese corworkers no end by enjoying it.
As to the shooting – sure it was unpossible, but at least they kept it out of the local eateries and used a big chain franchise location. Less disruptive of dining in the area, I would suppose.

Denny’s is my favorite restaurant (that I can afford to patronize).
