Disagree about the retention devices. I’d much rather use the same holster all the time, open or concealed. That way I’m consistently training the same thing over and over. I do not like open carrying in holsters without good retention. A thumb-snap doesn’t add any appreciable time to my draw, but allows me to use the same sort of holster for multiple jobs.
My preference is a blade tech lydex IWB. very good retention, very concealable, and reasonably comfortable. I’ve never worn a holster so comfortable that I forgot I was wearing it; I think people who claim that might have general memory issues.
The one issue I have with IWB, as opposed to open carry, is that it is more difficult to get a quick and secure hold on the grip, in a way that doesn’t sacrifice accuracy.
Pocket. And no, I am not too cheap to buy a holster. I have the fine suede inside the waistband Bianchis for both the .380 and the .22. I just don’t like them.
Tucked in the pants, not for me. I’m skinnier than Twiggy, they’ll fall to the ground, and 87 safeties notwithstanding go off and shoot my good foot.
Right back pocket and, yes, I can reach it with either hand.
