Texas got only 4 points, 2 for no guns on a college campus and 2 for no handguns for kids under 18. The Texas gun rights groups almost got rid of the campus ban last legislative session. Of course, Texas has a great number of kids who hunt, so that stuff about owning guns only if over 18 is ridiculously inaccurate – kids can borrow Dad or Mom’s shotgun for doves or quail, or a scoped sniper rifle for deer, quite readily. And I’d rather face a 15 year old thug pointing a revolver at 25 yards, than a 15 year old deer hunter with a scoped .270, 5 or so seasons behind him and a reason to shoot me.
We don’t even have open carry of handguns allowed here, but for some reason, the Brady’s don’t give points for outlawing open carry. Texas can’t get no respect, I tell ya!
