There was at least one comment that noted what was missed by most of the pitifully unaware of the criminal process who commented.
Nothing in this changes the ability of judges to apply bail restrictions or deny bail to charged defendents, it simply removes the overreaching broad restrictions.
So either the reporters left that info out, or, more likely, the bill’s proponent(s) failed to hammer that fact home every other sentence so they couldn’t.
It’s all about the presentation, don’t make the other guy’s job easier by failing to explain the obvious.

It’s sad that we need a bill to protect the 5th and 14th amendments to the United States Constitution.
