Another push for safety equipment
This time, in Texas:
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission is considering a rule that would allow the use of suppressors, which reduce the muzzle report much like a muffler dampens car noise, to be expanded for hunting game animals, game birds and alligators. Similar legislative efforts are under way in Arizona, Indiana, Oklahoma and Georgia.
You know, I’ve seen these bills getting pushed a lot lately and not a peep from the anti-gunners. I wonder what their thoughts are? I mean, other than ZOMG GUNS ARE BAD!!11one.

The anti-gunners have typically said “we don’t want to ban hunting guns” as their version of reasonable restrictions and I think even fudds can see that suppressors are useful in hunting so I think they face a bit of a dilemma with this.

I think the reason they aren’t jumping on the Sound Safety Issue is that no Psycho has used one to take out a Playground full of Soccer Moms and Toddlers.
Yet. But I’m sure there’s some Evil Rotten No-Good ^&^$^&&*^&%# thinking about it out there.
Even they would have a hard time getting the Media to a Candle Light Vigil for those who haven’t died.
But I’m sure they have their Matches on Hot Standby, just in case.

I’ve sent everyone I know the link to TPWD comment page. I’m hoping the antis don’t even know it’s going on until the comment period is over and the rules are changed.

Why not a peep from the antis?
The antis WANT you to register your silencer. Better for THE ATF to come and take everything.

The gun banners ARE speaking out and they are, of course, using Hollywood movies as their evidence that suppressors are only used by criminals.
Also, a heads up to those in Houston. Prominent gun dealer/former radio host Jim Pruett, has joined with the gun banning bigots to ban suppressors as a safety device for hunting. He repeats the same movie-crime nonsense while competently ignoring the facts about safety and noise pollution.
As for “registering silencers”. That’s already the circumstance we are forced to submit, suppressor hunting in Texas will not create a new registration scheme. But once more people recognize that suppressors are a safety device, required in many other parts of the world, a movement to deregulate them could have more momentum. Suppressor hunting will help spur that momentum.
